In this paper, considering the approximation of short-time and weak coupling of atom-field interaction, we have investigated the influence of virtual-photon processes on the squeezing of atom in the one-photon Jaynes-Cummings model, we found that this influence is related to the coupling strength, initial mean photon number, the optical frequency and the phase of the field.PACS number(s): 42.50.Dv
