Characteristic analysis of TE waves in nonlinear planar waveguides with Kerr-type core is analyzed by using Jacobi el liptic function.Dispersion equation,formulas for dependence of field distributio n optical power on modal index are given.Errors in a published paper [1] are corrected.Correct data and curves are given for a typical example.Our result s have been carefully checked by methods of numerical methods of analysis.
