In this paper the Te inclusions in Cd 1-y Zn yTe crystal wafer were observed by transmission infrared microscopy with quasi confocal system.The densities of Te inclusions in different layers were analyzed and the layer with the lowest density of Te inclusions suited for substrate of HgCdTe epitaxial film was found.
