Base on the mold matching recognition we present a new method of recognizing the number plate.According to the geometric difference of each character,we select some characteristic dots that can distinguish them,and encode each character.Through judging the value of each characteristic dot,we can recognize the number plate.In this method,we reduce the redundance information of matching mold and got very fast recognition speed.
