Abstract:The architecture of an optical add/drop multiplexing(OADM) network element(NE) node is proposed for optical transport networks.Its functional models are designed using the modular method.According to the architecture,a reconfigurable multi-channel OADM NE node is developed and tested.Which can dynamically multiplex/demultiplex up to eight wavelengths and give two bidirectional all-optical network interfaces and one network management interface.
