Abstract:Photodynamic therapy(PDT) can induce cell apoptosis.Bcl-2 family is the key regulators in apoptosis.In this study,we assessed the effects of hematoporphyrin monomethyl ether(HMME) mediated PDT on Bcl-2,Followed irradiation (15 mW/cm~2,5.4 J/cm~2),monolayer HeLa cell were harvested at 2,4 and 6 hours respectively.The apoptosis was confirmed by the detection of the activity of caspase-3.The content of Bcl-2 was determined by Western blotting.HMME-PDT can induce HeLa cells apoptosis as the activity of casase-3 significantly increase,but the content of Bcl-2 of treated cells are not significantly different from that of control cells.
