Abstract:The Tm~(3+) doped Li_2O-CdO-Al_2O_3-SiO_2(LCAS:Tm~(3+)) glasses were fabricated by the technique of high-temperature melting and its another glasses samples were obtained by high temperature treatment and quenching.Their absorption, excitation and emission spectra were measured and analyzed. The transmission ratio exceeded 95% in near-infrared range,so the LCAS:Tm~(3+) glasses can be used as high transmission optical glasses. The integral emission cross-sections outclassed 10~(-18) cm,the fluorescent ratios were higher and the radiative lifetimes were lenger,to the glasses are possible to be used as new laser function materials. The new strong and broad emissive bands for 400 nm to 680 nm emerge in the emission spectra of the another glasses samples. The emissive bands are shifted to blue with the Tm~(3+) concentration increasing in LCAS.The phenomenon indicates that the materials can be used in the optical memory and full-color display fields. The reasons for the luminescence phenomena were analyzed and discussed.
