Polarization mode dispersion(PMD) compensation performances in 40 Gb/s RZ with 50% duty cycle,RZ with 33% duty cycle and CSRZ systems in presence of polarization dependent loss(PDL) are analyzed.Two cases about systems with no PDL and with PDL are compared.The results show that the presence of PDL in the system can significantly reduce the efficiency of the PMD compensation technique and outage probability increase with distorted eye diagram.The results also show that CSRZ format has better mitigation performance against PMD and PDL than other two formats.
