Abstract:Wavelength-routed all-optical networks are considered to be candidates for the next generation wide-area backbone network, in such networks, the wavelength continuity constraint plays an important role because it reduces the performance of the networks greatly. Since wavelength converters are expensive devices,we propose a sparse multi-fibre link configuration algorithm to improve the performance of networks without wavelength converters. Simulation shows that the proposed configuration can impact the influence of wavelength continuity constraint.
