A multi-laser beams measurement(MLBM) system based on optical scintillation of backscattered signals is demonstrated and characterized. In the real-time detection experiment, the backscattered signals are analyzed by the optical cross-correlation method to determine the wind velocity and direction at a fixed distance of 200 m.Meanwhile, the wind velocities at different time and different placements are also measured. The results show a low relative error within 5% between calculated speeds and calibration values.
