We propose a novel optical virtual private network(OVPN) which is implemented by arrayed waveguide grating(AWG) in wavelength division multiplexing passive optical network(WDM-PON).The OVPN uses a ring structure,in which optical network units(ONUs) communicate through wavelength channels directly.The OVPN improves the security and survivability of ONU communication.We also conduct numerical analysis of optical power loss and bit error rate(BER).The results demonstrate that the OVPN not only enhances the communication security,but also realizes the connection among 16 ONUs using only 4 wavelengths,which saves wavelength resource,and strong ability of anti-crosstalk is achieved.
