Abstract:The red light fluorescent powder of Eu-benzoylacetone-1,10-phenanthrolin used in white light emitting diode(WLED) is synthesized. The structure and properties of the complex are characterized by FT-IR spectrometry,UV-vis spectrometry,Fluorescence spectrometry, fluorescence lifetime and thermogravimetric analysis. The results suggest that the ligands have coordinated with Eu(III)ion. The absorption of complexes mainly comes from the ligands absorption. The complex emits characteristic red light at 611nm excited by 365 nm ultraviolet light. The result indicates that the complex is a photoluminescence fluorescent powder excited by 365 nm ultraviolet light. The fluorescence lifetime of the complex is 5.033×10-4 s.The quantum yield is 68.4%.The decomposition temperature of complex is near 250 ℃,meeting the requirement of working temperature of white LED.In addition, the singlet and triplet energy levels of the ligands are calculated by quantum chemistry, and the luminous mechanism of the complex is explored.
