Holographic characteristics of the ZrO2-nanoparticles-doped polyvinyl alcohol/acrylamide(PVA/AA)-based photopolymer are studied. It is illuminated under the incident wavelength of 647 nm from Ar+Kr+ laser. The experimental results show that the incorporation of ZrO2 nanoparticles leads to a significant improvement of refractive index modulation and a decrease of the shrinkage:the refractive index modulation is increased from 1.88×10-3 to 2.28×10-3 and the shrinkage is decreased from 3.2% to 0.8%.All of the results demonstrate that the organic-inorganic nanocomposite photopolymer will be the most appropriate candidate in the future holographic system.
