The temperature response characteristics of cascaded long period fiber grating(C-LPFG,or called as long period fiber grating pair,LPFGP) are researched theoretically and experimental.The relationships between the C-LPFG temperature sensitivity and the order of cladding mode,the period of the long period grating pair are discussed as well.The temperature sensing experiment is done with the temperature ranging from 20 ℃ to 80 ℃.The experimental results show that the C-LPFG resonant wavelength has a linear relation with the time.The data has good repeatability.The resonant wavelength′s temperature sensitivity is 0.250 1 nm/℃,while with the same parameters the LPFG′s temperature sensitivity is 0.131 nm/℃.we can see that C-LPFG temperature sensitivity is higher than that of the LPFG with the same parameters.
