Abstract:In order to measure large-scale steel plates accurately, this paper p resents a 3D measurement method which combines laser and computer vision technique, and performs detail researches of key tec hniques, such as extracting laser markers, constructing error field and error correcting. In this paper,we measure steel p lates by using optical scanner and laser total station. The concrete steps of the proposed method are as follows.Firstly,an optic al scanner is used to obtain dense 3D data of a steel plate, and a laser total station is used to measure some laser markers which are adopted to c orrect the result;Secondly,we measure the laser markers by using the optical scanner;Thirdly,we construct an error field using the difference between the markers′ coordinates measured by scanner and laser, respectively; Finally, the constructed error fiel d is used to correct the result measured by the scanner to acquire accurate and dense 3D data. The experimental results show that the ac curacy increases by about 100% by using the combined method compared with the result measured only by a scanner, and the mea surement speed of the combined method is nearly the same as that of computer vision methods, which can satisfy the need of large -scale measurement in industry.
