Abstract:Compared with the traditional electric sensing technology,the fiber o ptic sensors have the advantages of higher sensitivity,immunity to electromagnetic interference, better insulation, higher temperature and corrosion resistance.It can meet the requirement of modern sensor technology.In order to design a novel vibration sensing structure with high sens itivity,this paper investigates a fiber Bragg grating (FBG) vibrating wire base d acceleration sensor.Firstly,the size of structure is determined by finite element analysis.Moreover,the effectiveness of the senso r is verified and its parameters are calibrated by calibration experiment on the platform vibrator.Fin ally,the sensor is tested by the cylinder cover′s vibration monitor of the engine in interna l combustion engine laboratory.The experimental results show this sensor has high sensitivity,which can reach 108.6pm/g (100Hz).Its response error is less than 2.5% and repeatability error is less th an 0.03%,and the resonant frequency is about 250Hz.The results of cylinder cover′s vibratio n monitoring indicate that this sensor can monitor the variation of acceleration very well.
