A laser interference effect evaluation method based on laser spot and image features is proposed.It reflects the changes of the laser spot distribution cha racteristics using the distance between the center of the laser spot and the center of the target.It reflects the changes of the global image features using the changes in the sparse representation characteristic matrix.And it ref lects the changes of the local image features using the changes in the edge sharpness of the image.Then the laser interferenc e effect can be evaluated according to the changes of the laser spot and image features before an d after laser interference.In terms of the laser interference experiment results,the proposed method shows good feasibility and rationality under the disturbing conditions with different disturbing powers,different laser-spot positions and different backg round intensities compared with the classical image quality assessment methods of mean square e rror (MSE) and structural similarity (SSIM).The proposed evaluation method can overcome the inaccuracy cause d by the inconsistency of the background intensity and the change of the laser-spot positions,and realize the evaluation of the laser interference effect objectively and accurately.
